Why use TechScribe?
TechScribe provides documentation services to software houses, IT departments and organisations where computer-based systems are used.
The principal of TechScribe, Mike Unwalla, started his technical documentation career in 1994 in a software house that produced ODBC drivers. In 1999 he started TechScribe. Nowadays, he is recognised as a leader in the field of technical documentation for software:
- The British Standards Institution appointed Mike as Principal UK Expert on software documentation in 2004.
- The British Computer Society elected Mike as a Chartered Member (MBCS CITP) in 2006.
- The Institute of Scientific and Technical Communicators elected Mike as a Fellow (FISTC) in 2003.
Many years ago Mike taught English as a foreign language. Following that, his doctoral research was on file partitioning in transaction processing databases. That combination of teaching and training skills, English language skills and technical ability is rare. It means that Mike can talk to your technical people in their language and then explain what they say in a way that is suitable to the readers of your software documentation.
